Tamsulosin and alcohol

We are advised "not to drink alcohol while [...] on tamsulosin. Alcohol will increase the side-effects of tamsulosin, such as feeling faint and dizzy." [1]

As for me I had no issues with a few glasses of wine in the evenings, which is in line with "there are no known interactions between alcohol and Tamsulosin hydrochloride" as stated by NHS UK [2].

Further, moderate alcohol intake may have no detrimental effect on voiding symptoms according to Dr. Roehrborn's findings. [3]

Please leave comments.

First post in the new blog about Flomax

Please bear with me and give me a bit of time to update and develop this blog. Unfortunately it may actually grow. I say unfortunately, because I alongside others depend on this drug to function somewhat normally. At a price. I will discuss this price in this blog.

Apologies for the simple and unfinished design. It'll get better.

I hope this blog to become:
  • Compendium of my knowledge about conditions and diseases where Tamsulosin is prescribed;
  • Resource of help and reliable information for others who have been prescribed this drug;
  • Discussion forum where people share their experiences and alternative approaches with others in the community;
  • Page where not just the official clinical trials results are presented, but real people's stories and experiences come to light and show the need for an alternative to this drug.
