About Me

I began having clear urological problems around my 37th birthday. My libido experienced its first drop in my lifetime, the erection became less steady. I had small transparent rice-like, jelly-like granules in my semen and my urine flow was pretty weak. It took me a while to empty my bladder. I went to a urologist, who examined me and explained to me I need urodynamic test done in a hospital and in case a blockage is found following a cystoscopy, I would have a simple surgery, stay in the hospital for a few days and be fine. Or else ... the wall of my bladder could thicken, and I could have serious problems when I get older and my prostate enlarges. I didn't like the guy, and hearing about staying in the hospital for a few days in case something is found. So I decided not to see him again.

Few months passed and with all of the above symptoms my flow became even weaker as I could barely maintain any flow at all. I thought: "This ain't normal." And then one evening my belly hurt as if I had been inflated, but there was no way to relieve it. No way pass the gass causing the pain caused by being bloated. I read a bit online and decided that bladder cancer was a possibility.

Next day I went straight to the hospital. No, I thought to myself, no private doctors, no putting off procedures, no making of appointments several weeks ahead of time. In the hospital I was examined with ultrasound, nothing found and told to come the next day for urodynamics. I thought: "Wow, that was fast!" Next day, with a full bladder, my urodynamics was abysmal and I was immediately sent for RTG or my uretra and pathways. But ... nothing showed up. This was the moment the urologist prescribed Alna Retard (Tamsulosin) and told me to come back for urodynamics in 2 weeks.

I did my best at the test, managing a 10 ml/second flow, pushing, of course, so as not to be a candidate for further tests. Urologist then spared me the cystoscopy and said: "You've got a 'lazy bladder syndrome'."

To be continued....
